Magic Moments

Love you my little sister!!

This is how you stretch before you go for a run

I said leave my cheek alone

Calm down naughty sister, you are too jumpy

Mobility - My New Found Love

I have been hopping on the walker for a while now and the wheels have also been put on for quite some time. But in recent days, I am making true use of it. It started with my ability to crawl over any small to medium sized obstacles. I am the king (queen rather) when I am on the floor with no known boundaries. I can now reach out to my sister and snatch what she was playing with (pay back time, big sister!). With a good understanding of benefits of movement, I have translated that onto my walking skills - really using those walker wheels to its fullest. I move from room to room, often with great speed. Thoroughly enjoying this experience!

You know that I could sit very well now. So the trick to my mobility has expanded into a switch from sitting to crawling in less than 6 seconds, I kid you not ... this is state of the art mobile stuff. I am working on crawling to sitting right now. Little bit more to go in that area. Of course it works when I throw a little tantrum when I can't sit back up ... one of the adults comes to rescue.

My mom and us were playing hide and seek the other day. My mom went to hiding ... and my sister was telling me it was ok - it was only a game. I stood there quietly. My sister spent some time looking for my mom - but after a while she was getting frustrated. Forgetting what she was telling me minutes back, she started to cry. I thought I would take it on myself to rescue my poor sister. I walked around in my walker and found my mom hiding in the bedroom. My mom thought that was very smart of me. I am well establishing the notion that I am the more calm and collected among the two of us - me and my sister.

Sick Leave

Past couple of weeks was seasonal flu time. First it was my sister who fell sick. 4-5 days of coughing, runny nose, restless nights and then she was all good. Whose turn is next? Me of course. Same steps - coughing, runny nose, restless nights etc. My parents took us both to the doctor for a routine check and to make sure no extra precautions need to be taken. Nothing was required. Every day my mom will pour some liquid in my nose followed by a drop sucker to pull out some runny stuff. I have to say - I hate that feeling. I don't cry much, believe. But invasion into my nose can never be tolerated.

At night they turn on the vaporiser so I get a relatively good nights sleeps. That's bit more acceptable. Still, its hard to sleep through the night for a little girl like me if I can't breathe properly. Anyways, good news is, I am lot better now.

Seven Months

Tick tock, tick tock ... and it's seven months. We celebrated my turning of month seven. Second half of the year already and not too far from my birthday. Time is rolling fast and I am turning into a big girl pretty quickly. Since I can sit now, I can take a bath with my sister in the tub together - which is good fun. My sister can give me a back rub and shampoo my hair. What I don't like her to do though is pour water on my head. Wait till I get a little bit bigger and pour it back on her. But we both like playing with our duckies in the water.

My Sister's 2nd Birthday

April 29 was my sister's second birthday. My parents' schedule and weekends didn't quite align with the following weekend - so we settled for May 8th as the day to celebrate her birthday officially. Mommy had setup our backyard for the birthday celebration and turned it into little children's playground. And there were a few of them on that day. Too bad I am too young to get on any of the rides.

My sister loves her Hi5 and therefore the theme was, you guessed it, Hi5. I spend quite a bit of time watching Hi5 myself since my sister hogs the TV every time we are in the living area. I have however developed a very matured taste of In the Night Garden. That's one program on the tele that gets my undivided attention when its on. Anyhow, Hi5 it was on her special day.

The birthday girl with my parents

My big sister has already learned to blow the candle - so the spotlight was on her to show it off. Challenge for her of course was to do that without getting the cake wet! I was asleep most of the party. All that fuss wasn't able to keep me away from my routine sleep. But I got up just before it was time for my sister to get to her cake. It was a cool party in the end - lots of food, toys and games, lots of bubbles and yummy treats. I can't wait for my 1st birthday. Boy, that promises to be a really cool event too.
